HPS Ramanthapur Honours Distinguished Alumnus Padma Shri Dr. G. V. Rao at Investiture Ceremony 2026–27

The Hyderabad Public School, Ramanthapur, proudly hosted its Investiture Ceremony for the academic year 2026–27, marking the formal induction of the newly elected Student Prefectorial Board. The occasion was made even more memorable with the presence of Padma Shri awardee Dr. G. V. Rao, Director of AIG Hospitals and Chief of Surgical Gastroenterology, as the Chief Guest. Dr. Rao is a distinguished alumnus of HPS Ramanthapur whose remarkable achievements continue to inspire generations of students.
In a moment of immense pride for the HPS community, Dr. G. V. Rao was felicitated by the Board of Governors and the Principal in recognition of his being conferred the Padma Shri, one of India’s highest civilian honours, for his exceptional contributions to medicine and healthcare. The felicitation celebrated not only his professional excellence but also his enduring association with his alma mater, making the occasion deeply meaningful for students, faculty, alumni, and members of the HPS Society.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Rao shared his inspiring journey from the classrooms of HPS Ramanthapur to becoming one of India’s most respected medical professionals. He encouraged the newly elected student leaders to lead with integrity, humility, compassion, and a strong sense of responsibility, emphasizing that true leadership is rooted in service and ethical values.
The ceremony featured the oath-taking of the Head Boy, Head Girl, House Captains, Deputy Captains, Prefects, and members of the Student Prefectorial Board, who pledged to uphold the rich traditions and values of the institution with dedication and commitment.
